Powercell PDX Load Cell

Mettler Toledo, a Columbus, Ohio-based provider of vehicle scales, has announced the release of its Powercell PDX load cell, which it says eliminates the typical maintenance, repair costs and downtime related to conventional analog vehicle scales. The company says the new product will help customers in any industry prevent unnecessary and potentially substantial profit losses that may result from the use of analog or hydraulic load cell truck scales.

Features of the Powercell PDX include:

  • Network with absolutely no junction boxes;
  • Includes predictive diagnostics to keep users informed of scale’s performance including: automatic notification of weighing errors, overloading, environmental conditions, network health, load cell voltages and enclosure integrity without the need for maintenance-prone external converter boxes;
  • Built-in lightning protection;
  • Each Powercell PDX local cell uses an on-board microprocessor to monitor internal and external influences that effect weighing accuracy;
  • Load cells connect to one another in a simple network, eliminating higher-maintenance junction boxes and costly totalizers which are required in analog and hydraulic truck scales;
  • Heavy-duty cables protected by braided, stainless steel sheathing designed to guarantee the integrity of the weight signal, protect against radio frequency interference and damage caused by moisture, rodents, and machinery.
