ARC-MET8000 –
Portable OES Analyzer with AIR and ARGON measurements to analyze, identify and sort metals
Oxford Instruments recognizes the important role of the scrap industry in today’s world.
High standards demanded by end users mean that the quality and precision of metal sorting have
to be second to none.
Accurate, stable and fast results
Our OES technology is known by its uncompromising accuracy thanks to its unique technical approach - optics in the probe. The measurement results remain stable in varying environments.
The probe contains the complete optical system inside a rugged housing. This gives superior performance due to the fact that no signal is lost when sending the light through a fiber optic cable to the optics in the main unit.
System design enables portability and easy access to the sample

The battery operation of ARC-MET8000 allows easy portability from one site to another, using a simple cart. Fast analysis and sorting can conveniently be performed in changing and harsh environments.
The rugged system has a long flexible cable between its probe and main unit. This enables convenient access to the most difficult places - e.g. in scrap, stock and plant yards - without the need to carry the main unit to the sample. IP 54 / NEMA 3 (main unit) “PROTECTION RATING” classification means real weather-proof construction.
The display and keyboard in the probe allow the user to control the operation of the entire system and view the results from the probe. This remote keyboard/display saves time, especially when measuring samples at a distance from the main unit.
The new unique OES feature: Carbon analysis in AIR
Carbon can be analyzed without argon using the standard 193 nm line giving sorting capabilities that have never before existed
The carbon content of concave and other complex surfaces, which make Argon sealing difficult, can now be measured easily
ARC-MET8000 offers you:
· Fast analysis and sorting
· Carbon analysis in both air and argon
