Zaner Financial Services LLC, a global futures expert and brokerage firm based in Chicago, has added Scott Pollan to its team as a Series 3 licensed commodity futures broker. The company specializes in servicing bullion dealers, refineries and recyclers, providing commodity price risk mitigation solutions.
In this position, Pollan will onboard clients to the Tornado Bullion trading platform and integrate hedging strategies with scrap metal recyclers. He also will work with senior leaders to ensure that Zaner clients are mitigating their metal price risk. For the new position, Pollan will report to Tom Garland, senior vice president of Zaner Precious Metals and co-founder of Tornado Bullion.
According to a news release from Zaner Financial Services, the company is planning to grow in the next few years and states that Pollan will be helpful in identifying potential clients. “We are growing in the scrap metal field,” says Matthew Zaner, president of Zaner Financial Services. “With [Pollan’s] guidance and expertise, we are attractive to a new kind of customer, the scrap metal recycler.”
Prior to taking on this role, Pollan has worked for a little more than a decade in the metals industry, managing multifunctional projects. He has helped to drive strategy design, onboard customer teams, influence corporate development initiatives and assist in postonboarding integrations. He has also served as president of Emergency Material Services LLC, a consulting firm focused on the recycling industry. Prior to that he was a metals trader at Azcon Metals in Chicago. He has a Bachelor of Science in earth sciences from Montana State University and a National Futures Association Series 3 license.
