World Steel Association elects new officers

Board of directors also elects new executive committee members and welcomes new members.

The board of directors for the World Steel Association (Worldsteel) has elected Wolfgang Eder, chairman and CEO of Voestalpine AG, as its new chairman. The elections were held during Worldsteel’s recent annual meeting.

In addition to Eder, Worldsteel’s board of directors also announced the election of Alexey Mordashov, CEO of Seveerstal JSC, and André Gerdau Johannpeter of Gerdau SA, as vice chairmen; and Eiji Hayashida, president and CEO, JFE Steel Corp., as treasurer.

During the conference Worldsteel’s board of directors also elected the following members to its executive committee for 2014/2015:
