Nov. 11, 2016, Waste Management of Minnesota completed the acquisition of Blue Lakes Disposal, a waste and recycling company which operates in the Brainerd, Minnesota, area.
The acquisition includes seven collection vehicles that provide recycling and trash collection services to more than 2,500 residential customers and about 300 commercial customers.
For Waste Management, the Blue Lakes acquisition was an opportunity to expand existing service in the Brainerd area. Blue Lakes Disposal's customer base will mesh with Waste Management's existing service area and allow for increased collection efficiencies, the company says.
“Waste Management places a very high priority on our customers, and we are working to inform these new customers as quickly as possible,” says Steve Boe, Brainerd district manager, Waste Management. “At the end of the day, WM’s goal for our Brainerd area customers is to strive for a seamless transition, with no noticeable change.
“We are very excited about growing our business in the Brainerd area,” Boe continues, “and we are looking forward to building new relationships with these customers and the communities that we serve.”
