Wieland Group, a global supplier of semifinished copper and copper alloy products that is headquartered in Ulm, Germany, has announced its acquisition of Small Tube Products. Based in Duncansville, Pennsylvania, Small Tube Products is a principal producer of small-diameter and thin-wall specialty tubing made of copper, copper alloys and aluminum.
A news release from Wieland says Small Tube Products has the largest and most diverse precision redraw tube mill in North America. The acquired company serves customers in the automotive, electrical, transportation, heat transfer, welding and consumer product industries.
“The addition of Small Tube Products to the Wieland Group enables us to further expand our product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities while delivering enhanced value to our growing customer base,” says Erwin Mayr, CEO of Wieland. “This acquisition marks another milestone in the expansion of our market presence in North America.”
Since 2022, Wieland has acquired several other U.S.-based companies. Early this July, Wieland announced its acquisition of Farmers Copper Ltd., a copper, brass and bronze alloys supplier with sites in Texas City and San Antonio, Texas. In May of this year, the company announced its purchase of Lone Star Casting & Machine, which is based in Kilgore, Texas. Wieland also finalized its purchase of Hummock Industries Dec. 30, 2022, giving it ownership over Heyco Metals in Reading, Pennsylvania, and National Bronze Manufacturing in Roseville, Michigan. The company also acquired Totall Metal Recycling Inc. in Granite City, Illinois, in May 2022.
These purchases follow a 2021 investmentof $100 million toward opening a recycling and refining facility in Shelbyville, Kentucky, which broke ground last year. Wieland has its North American headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, along with several facilities across another 12 U.S. states not mentioned above and in Puerto Rico.
Small Tube Products will continue operations under Wieland’s Business Unit Thermal Solutions.
