Siewert is an experienced executive specializing in recycling systems and has spent 20 years in the plastics industry, both on the sales side and the operations side of plastics recovery facilities (PRFs), with Van Dyk noting his “strong background in developing innovative processes and new lines of revenue.”

According to Van Dyk, Siewert has the perspective needed to develop cutting-edge recycling processes and was “instrumental” in building some of the first large-scale PRFs in North America, saying he is dedicated to developing domestic processing solutions for plastics.

“Van Dyk has been at the forefront of several advancements in the recycling industry, from introducing single-ram balers to adopting single-stream processing and optical sortation,” Siewert says. “They are expert plant builders with the tools to establish successful strategies in new markets.”

Most recently, Siewert served as the global head of plastic processing at Mura Technology, a London-based plastics recycling technology provider. In the role, he aligned sustainability goals with strategic growth and advanced recycling technologies while focusing on environmentally friendly practices and circular economy principles.

Van Dyk says Siewerts hiring steams from a desire to improve plastics circularity in North America, and while the company has been involved with 41 PRF projects, Siewert’s hiring is meant to expand its footprint in that market space.

“Enrico has experience building and operating PRFs, and that makes him uniquely qualified to develop new business ventures in this industry, to include not only sorting, but full washing, water treatment and extrusion capabilities,” says Erik Eenkema van Dijk, executive vice president and COO at Van Dyk Recycling Solutions.

“Furthermore, with the addition of Enrico and other members of our already talented team, Van Dyk will be able to advance its ambition to provide the plastic industry with fully vertically integrated solutions, all the way from mixed plastic waste to end use commodities used to support circularity goals of our current and future customers. We look forward to applying Enrico’s knowledge to expand Van Dyk’s scope of services in the plastics sector.”
