UNTHA Shredding Technology America Inc., based in Hampton, N.H., will appear at several North American trade shows this spring. UNTHA America is a division of UNTHA Shredding Technology GmbH, headquartered in Kuchl, Austria.
UNTHA was present at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) trade show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas from April 16-18. ISRI is one of the largest gatherings of scrap recyclers in the world, with more than 6,000 industry professionals in attendance. There, UNTHA featured its RS150 four-shaft shredding system. Designed to process scrap metals, electronics, tires and hazardous waste, among other materials, the system shreds, then more finely shreds, material in a single operation, the company says.
UNTHA America says its RS series has been in use for decades and is characterized by a powerful, rugged design than can handle difficult operating conditions and multiple-shift continuous operation.
“More than 40 years of expertise is built into the RS series,” says Bernhard Mueggler, president and CEO of UNTHA America. “We have more than 8,000 of these shredders in daily operation around the globe.”
From April 23-25, UNTHA America will present products at the North American Waste to Energy Conference (NAWTEC) in Portland, Maine. There, UNTHA’s presentation will feature its XR pre-shredder and TR secondary shredder. Both models convert household and industrial waste into secondary fuel, the company says.
“The beauty of these models is that they do not have to be used with mass-burning incinerators,” says Mueggler. “They can be used in conjunction with the latest gasification technology.”
Last stop on the spring schedule is Waste Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center from May 1-3, 2012. Now in its 40th year, Waste Expo is North America’s largest solid waste and recycling trade show, with some 11,000 attendees expected. UNTHA America will feature its extensive product line at the conference.
