Unifi has introduced a line of filament yarn, ReComfort, it says is designed to act and feel like traditional cotton, acrylic and rayon.
RELATED: Sustainability at the core
The Greensboro, North Carolina-based company says ReComfort is made with more sustainable materials and is an alternative to standard virgin cotton, acrylic, rayon and other spun yarn blends, and has key features including being soft to the touch and pill resistant. Optimized for Repreve Polyester, Repreve Nylon, standard (virgin) polyester and standard (virgin) nylon, ReComfort has less drying and processing time, which can save energy.
Unifi says ReComfort is available globally for brands to incorporate into their manufacturing process and products. To qualify for Repreve branding and certification, fabrics must contain at least 30 percent Repreve by weight and undergo testing.
