Neville Metals, located in Pittsburgh, has entered into an agreement with Texas Shredder, Inc., San Antonio, to design and build a complete 80/104 heavy service damp shredder facility for their Neville Island location.
A 3,000 HP, 514 RPM Alstom motor, will power a ten-disc “No Weld” rotor. The shredder will also be equipped with an Auto Pilot and Water Injection System provided by Smart Recycling of the UK.
The downstream will have a 60 x 96 Masters ferrous magnet, Z–box, 3-stage trommel, (2) Steinert eddy current separators (ECS) and a Steinert induction sorting system (ISS).
Neville has been in the scrap metal recycling business in the Pittsburgh area for 30 years. The shredder is the first time the company has ventured into the heavy service shredder side of the business.
The new shredder facility is scheduled to begin production this fall.
