STF Group, a Germany-based manufacturer of plastic recycling and washing machinery, and Zimmer America Corp., a Cowpens, South Carolina-based full-service agency company specializing in textile and nonwoven finishing equipment, have announced the sale of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle washing plant to a business in the Dominican Republic.
According to a news release from STF, this is the first installation of its kind in the country. The line will be installed at Cilpen Global Business, a waste and plastic recycler located on the island.
The line has a capacity of 2.5 metric tons of PET flakes an hour and features STF machinery manufactured in Germany. This includes the screening trommel, label scraper, star screen, grinder, washing, drying and flake separation machinery. It also includes a complete water recirculation system.
Installation of the line will begin in the first quarter of 2024.
STF Group says it has more than 150 turnkey plants and many single recycling machines in operation worldwide. The company also claims to be the largest PET recycler in Europe with more than 180,000 metric tons per year of in-house PET recycling.
STF America (a div. of Zimmer America Corp.), Spartanburg County, South Carolina, is the exclusive sales representative of STF Group in the Americas.
