Solarcycle, a solar recycling company, has opened its headquarters in Mesa, Arizona, equipped with a research lab that will deploy a team of scientists and engineers to advance its technologies, creating more than 100 local jobs.
According to Solarcycle, the Mesa facility initially will recycle 250,000 solar panels per year, increasing to 1 million panels per year in demanufacturing capacity. The company plans to hire for roles in production, engineering, operations, information technology, finance, sales, marketing and management.

Solarcycle says its proprietary technology allows for the extraction of 95 percent of valuable materials from recycled panels, including silver, copper, aluminum, silicon and glass. The company sells these recovered materials back to the domestic supply chain and will use the new Mesa-based research and design (R&D) lab to improve its material refinement process.
RELATED: A virtuous cycle
Through recent contracts with EDF Renewables North America, AES Corp., Orsted and Silicon Ranch Corp., Solarcycle has grown its infrastructure footprint nationally and plans to announce additional facilities this year.
The company says it prioritizes worker safety and the environment in its advanced recycling process through its certifications under International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 19001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
