Sierra International Machinery, headquartered in Bakersfield, California, has announced the release of Repurposed, a documentary series available on the company’s YouTube channel starting today.
Sierra co-owner and President John Sacco narrates this multiepisode series that highlights various American metal and paper processors and recyclers to show how recycled materials are vital to manufacturing everyday goods. Repurposed, with new episodes airing weekly, will take viewers behind the scenes to witness how the items used daily rely on recycled materials facilities, steel mills, foundries and paper mills.
“Repurposed is a docuseries that tells the story of the importance of the materials recycling industry and the supply chain of raw materials to steel mills, foundries for aluminum and paper mills,” Sacco says. “Repurposed also tells a story about green manufacturing and how our industry helps keep our communities clean, how our communities are a better place to live because [of] the environmental stewardship of the recycled materials industry. This series is designed to change the narrative and ensure people understand the negative impact on their daily lives if the recycled material industry ceases to exist.”
Sacco is joined by industry experts like Alter Trading CEO Jay Robinovitz, Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries President Robin Wiener, Recycling Today Media Group Publisher Jim Keefe, SA Recycling President and CEO George Adams and many more guests who explain how vital the recycling industry is to our environment, infrastructure and everyday health.
Repurposed, Season 1, Episode 1: “It Takes Grit” can be viewed on Sierra International Machinery’s YouTube channel.
Sierra International Machinery sells and supports processing equipment for the metal, recycling and waste industries and owns and operates a recycling facility, giving the company firsthand knowledge of the challenges recycling professionals face.
