Rotobec's Elite-XT Loader |
Rotobec, Sainte-Justine, Quebec, is now manufacturing a variety of attachments designed for railway maintenance and tie handling applications. The company says its attachments include rail segment and loose-tie handling grapples, custom loaders for OTR applications, loaders with saws for rail line disaster cleanup and custom attachments designed to meet the needs of rail contractors.
Rotobec’s heavy-duty tie-bundle grapple is a narrow grapple with a large opening and straight jaws to handle railroad tie bundles. It is equipped with large, high-pressure cylinders to generate the required pressure to hold the bundle firmly, the company says.
Rotobec's heavy-duty loose-tie grapple is a grapple that has been designed to handle bundles of loose railroad ties. Its jaws are thin and straight to be able to work along walls and to easily enter between ties, Rotobec says.
The Rotobec rail-bed digging clamshell grapple is a narrow clamshell bucket that has been designed specifically to remove material from the railroad bed between ties and is effective in achieving efficient railroad maintenance, according to the company.
Packed with extra features and accessories, Rotobec’s Elite-XT Loader combines smoothness and precision with high lift capacity, the company says. According to Rotobec, the loader offers a continuous rotation movement and is tough yet lean, weighing almost 20 percent less than its competitors. The Elite-XT mounts easily to trucks or railroad flatbeds for easy transportation, Rotobec says, and is available with a grapple saw to assist in storm cleanup duties where blowdown is an issue.
