Revolution Sustainable Solutions LLC, headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas, has acquired Norflex Inc., a Hudson, Wisconsin-based producer of agricultural and industrial films.
Revolution says the strategic purchase will bolster its capabilities in sustainable agriculture solutions and expand its sustainable stretch and shrink film businesses.
This is the second acquisition Revolution announced this year. In January, the company acquired PolyAg Recycling Ltd., a Canada-based mechanical recycler of agricultural films that was established in 2019 and offers local recycling of used agricultural film through its recycling facility in Bashaw, Alberta.
Norflex produces Agriseal silage wrap, a product that complements Revolution’s existing portfolio of agriculture solutions. Agriseal is known for its durability and efficiency, using less overall material, which aligns with Revolution’s mission to drive sustainability in the agriculture sector.
For more than two decades, Revolution has served farmers throughout North America with collection and recycling services for used ag films, converting the material into certified postconsumer recycled resin (PCR) that can be used to manufacture new film products, such as can liners, carryout bags and stretch film.
“Integrating Norflex’s Agriseal silage wrap enhances our ability to offer comprehensive, sustainable solutions to the agricultural community,” Revolution President Scott Coleman says. “This acquisition allows us to further our commitment of helping farmers and agricultural businesses create less waste and increase efficiency.”
Norflex’s stretch film business offers synergies with Revolution’s sustainable stretch film division, including technology to expand Revolution’s blown stretch film to complement its current cast film products. The combined expertise and resources will enable producing higher-quality, more sustainable stretch films catering to a wide range of industrial applications. Revolution says its approach to incorporating certified postconsumer recycled (PCR) content into its products will be enhanced by Norflex’s market reach and technological capabilities, such as requiring less material in products to reduce overall film use.
The purchase also enables Revolution’s growth in the shrink film market. Norflex’s expertise in producing high-quality shrink films, combined with Revolution’s expertise in producing consistent postconsumer recycled materials, positions the company to offer shrink film solutions with PCR content, aligning with Revolution’s strategy to lead the market in sustainable film production.
“As we move forward, our focus remains on developing and delivering solutions to support a sustainable ecosystem and future,” Coleman adds. “We look forward to the positive impact this acquisition will have on our company, our customers, and the environment.”
