The Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC), Charlottesville, Virginia, has scheduled a webinar for later this month offering details on the Fiber Recycling Readiness Tool introduced by the Washington-based Recycled Materials Association (ReMA).

ReMA (formerly ISRI) staff members Natalie Messer Betts and Jason Biggers will offer remarks at the webinar, scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

The SPC, part of the GreenBlue network of packaging and recycling-related organizations, describes the ReMA Fiber Recycling Readiness Tool as “a free, science-based resource designed to help brands and packaging companies as they design or redesign fiber-based packaging for the United States market.”

Topics SPC says will be addressed during the webinar include: how the tool assesses how a piece of packaging will flow through the current recycling system; the tool’s capacity to provide customized feedback on how to improve the recyclability of a package; and the tool’s development, its potential advantages and ReMA’s plans for its future.

More information about how to register for the webinar, which will be moderated by Brad Kurzynowski of the SPC, can be found on the coalition’s section of the BigMarker website.
