Reconomy, a United Kingdom-based company with several recycling firms in its portfolio, has hired Philip Vincent as chief financial officer (CFO).
“I am delighted to welcome Philip to Reconomy at this exciting time for our business,” Reconomy Chief Executive Guy Wakeley says. “He brings a wealth of relevant experience and will prove invaluable as we remain focused on executing on our strategic priorities to attain a leading position in the attractive international circularity market and scale our platform across North America.”
Vincent has more than 20 years of experience at multinational public and private companies across a number of industries, including stints at a law firm, at beverage producer SABMiller and at the BBC.
“I am excited to be joining the team at Reconomy,” Vincent says. “I have been impressed by the company’s exceptional pace of organic and inorganic growth, its global reach, best-in-class experts, superior technology capabilities and the breadth of its customer base. I look forward to working with Guy and the rest of the leadership team as we focus on delivering long-term sustainable earnings growth and superior returns on invested capital.
The newly hired Vincent will succeed John Sullivan, who served as CFO of Reconomy for nine years.
“On behalf of the leadership team, I’d like to thank John for his outstanding service to our business," Wakeley says of Sullivan. "During his tenure, our business has grown nearly 14 times in size and his guidance and strategic leadership has contributed greatly to our success. We wish him well for the future.”
“The business is now in a very different place to when I joined in 2016, with excellent foundations in place for sustainable and profitable growth," Sullivan adds. "It has been a privilege to work with so many talented professionals during my nine years at Reconomy and I am tremendously proud of what we achieved and delivered for our clients."
Reconomy portfolio companies include German steelmaking electric arc furnace zinc dust recovery firm Sudhamin Rostoff, United Kingdom-based waste and recycling services provider Circle Waste, and Denmark-based waste and recycling logistics services firm Combineering.
