Reconomy UK Ltd., a United Kingdom-based specialty recycling and waste management services provider, says it has developed its corporate membership with business sustainability ratings agency EcoVadis.

Over the past six years, Reconomy says seven of its brands across its three loops have earned medals ranging from platinum to silver, placing some of them in the top quartile of their sectors. Under the Reconomy umbrella, Valpak and RLG each received platinum ratings, while Reconomy Connect earned a gold rating. The ReBound, Combineering and Noventiz brands each received silver ratings, and Advanced Supply Chain earned a “committed” designation.

Reconomy says it has grown significantly through acquisitions, adding four brands this year and five in 2023. It now is focused on bringing all of its brands, including the newly acquired ones, up to the same high sustainability standards. The company’s goal is for each brand to achieve at least a gold rating.

In 2025, Reconomy says one of its key priorities is to accelerate the implementation of its business-wide sustainable procurement policy, which is aligned with the ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement Guidance Standard. As part of this, Reconomy says it will enhance its methodology to engage with and assess its suppliers, ensuring ethical and transparent operations across its supply chain.

“We are delighted that several of our brands have achieved the highest recognition in sustainability from such a credible ratings agency,” Reconomy Group Sustainability Director Diane Crowe says. “EcoVadis has been invaluable in giving us greater visibility into our performance, identifying areas for improvement and driving progress. As a business dedicated to accelerating circularity, we are committed to excellence and to leading our sector in sustainability.”

EcoVadis provides detailed assessments of companies’ sustainability policies, actions and measures, resulting in a scorecard rated on a scale from 0 to 100. The scores reflect how well a company has integrated sustainability principles into its business practices. Companies are benchmarked against their sector peers and receive a percentile rank, with those in the top 1 percent earning platinum medals and those in the top 5 percent earning gold medals. EcoVadis’ methodology is based on leading standards including GRI, UNGC and ISO 26000.
