Reconomy, an international circular economy specialist, has announced that Jesper Dalsgaard will join its Denmark-based brand Combineering on Aug. 1 as CEO to lead the business through its next phase of growth.

Combineering provides large-scale, highly specialized and proprietary waste recycling solutions helping businesses maximize recycling rates, reduce waste and CO2 emissions. It also offers logistics management, notification services and legal compliance solutions.

Reconomy, based in United Kingdom, acquired Combineering in February 2023 to expand its circular capabilities in Europe and support international customers. Dalsgaard will work alongside the leadership team in Reconomy’s Comply Loop to accelerate growth.

Dalsgaard has experience in strategic leadership and has held several executive and senior leadership roles in global management consulting, logistics and building materials firms. He has expertise in helping international businesses solve sustainability challenges and a strong track record of leading and growing business divisions.

"I was most impressed by Combineering’s scientific and proprietary capabilities,” Dalsgaard says. “I am excited to join the team as we embark on this next phase of growth and work with the wider Reconomy group to help our customers better manage their resources and contribute in a meaningful way toward the circular economy.”

Previously at Ramboll, a global engineering and consultancy company delivering sustainable solutions to clients and partners, Dalsgaard was managing director in its environment and health division and oversaw the transformation of the division, turning it into Ramboll’s most profitable and largest segment.

“Jesper brings significant industry experience to Combineering along with a passion for sustainability that aligns with our values,” Reconomy Comply Division CEO Patrick Wiedemann says. “I look forward to working with him.”

Prior to this, Dalsgaard held senior leadership positions at other multinational organizations such as VKR Holding, the parent company of VKR Group, and A.P. Moller Maersk. Dalsgaard also graduated from the Copenhagen Business School.

"We are delighted that Jesper will be leading Combineering at this exciting point in its journey following our acquisition of the brand last year,” Reconomy CEO Guy Wakeley says. “His strong track record of growing business divisions will prove invaluable as we look to accelerate our expansion in Europe and continue on our fast-growth trajectory.”
