PSC Metals has announced that it has installed the ScrapBoss transportation trip-management software at its Nashville, Tenn., facility.
The software, created by Synergistic Systems, is designed specifically for the scrap metals industry. Among other features, it electronically tracks and controls container inventory and streamlines dispatching and the control of trucks. It also eliminates the need for paper records and equips trucks with a Global Positioning System.
"Because we now offer ScrapBoss, we can serve customers faster and more efficiently in our growing Tennessee market," said Chuck Hunter, PSC Metals’ director of Transportation, said. "We can track in real time the status of every container, enabling our customers to know the status of their load. It’s another example of upgrading our technology for all the right reasons."
