The Plastics Industry Association (Plastics), Washington, has announced new hires and promotions within its executive leadership team that were effective with the start of this year.
New hires
Chris Rager joins Plastics as vice president of government affairs after serving as the head of state government affairs for the American Petroleum Institute (API), where he managed the day-to-day operations of eight regionally based offices and nearly 50 staff members and consultants that covered API’s nationwide integrated advocacy capability. He has more than 20 years of experience in government relations and will focus on building a robust government affairs strategy at Plastics. His leadership will be instrumental in advancing the association’s advocacy and policy efforts at all levels of government, according to Plastics.
Angela Mealy has been added as executive director of NPE: The Plastics Show. In this newly created role, she oversees the strategy, operations, budget, project management and overall success of NPE2027, bringing extensive experience from her time as senior director of event services at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, where she directed three major trade shows.
Promotions
Plastics also has announced a number of promotions within its executive leadership team:
- Ashley Hood-Morley to senior vice president, industry engagement;
- Patrick Krieger to senior vice president, sustainability and policy;
- Stephanie Strategos Polis to vice president, public affairs;
- Apryl Alexander-Savino to vice president, events and marketing; and
- Mónica Mancilla Cooke to vice president, human resources.
“I’m proud of the team we’ve assembled at Plastics, happy to welcome our new additions and announce these well-deserved promotions to the executive leadership team,” the association’s President and CEO Matt Seaholm says. “As we start the new year, I’m confident this team will continue to represent the entire supply chain of our industry with dedication and deliver the highest value for our members.”
The Plastics Industry Association supports the entire plastics supply chain, including equipment suppliers, material suppliers, processors and recyclers, representing over 1 million workers in the $519 billion U.S. industry. Plastics says it has been working since 1937 to make its members and the eighth largest U.S. manufacturing industry more globally competitive while supporting circularity through educational initiatives, industry-leading insights and events, convening opportunities and policy advocacy, including the largest plastics trade show in the Americas, NPE: The Plastics Show.
