Previero N. Srl, a portfolio company of Ambienta SGR SpA, one of Europe’s largest asset managers entirely focused on environmental sustainability, has acquired mechanical sorting equipment maker Parini Srl of Orologia, Italy.
Previero provides recycling equipment with a focus on plastics washing and size reduction.
“I am thrilled to welcome Parini, one of our most trusted partners with whom we have cultivated a longstanding relationship," Previero CEO Giuseppe di Carpegna says. "This acquisition allows us to expand into the highly attractive sorting sector, further enhancing our turnkey solutions.”
Parini specializes in the development and production of equipment for the mechanical separation of waste into various types, such as rigid plastics and films, as well as the removal of contaminants.
“Mechanical sorting is a critical initial step in the plastics recycling process—alongside Previero’s focus area of preprocessing—to ensuring high output quality and overall plant efficiency," the Milan-based company adds. "Parini has developed robust in-house technical expertise, enabling it to create a wide range of machinery and become a trusted partner to its customers.”
Ambienta says the move ties into a trend where the recycling market is evolving toward a more sophisticated value proposition, with customers increasingly seeking integrated players capable of delivering end-to-end solutions.
“The acquisition of Parini, with its extensive experience and strong synergies with Previero, aligns seamlessly with Ambienta’s investment objectives and long-term vision for Previero's platform," says Andrea Venturini, principal at Ambienta. "Our ultimate aim is to establish Previero as the global leader in integrated and sustainable recycling solutions.”
“We are excited and honored to join forces with Previero,” adds Fabio Parini, general manager at Parini. “By merging our robust technical expertise with Previero’s exceptional R&D capabilities and market leadership, we are confident that this partnership will not only strengthen our platform across the plastic recycling value chain but also significantly elevate our integrated solutions, both within the plastic recycling sector and beyond.”
