OSHA Fines Aluminum Fabricator for Multiple Violations

Fines for 37 violations total $140,000.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Fritz Aluminum Services Inc., Eustis, Fla., with 37 violations for exposing working to a number of safety and health hazards, including combustible dust accumulations, at the company's facility. Proposed penalties total $139,800.

According to OSHA, due to the repeat violations and the nature of the hazards, the agency has placed Fritz Aluminum Services in its Severe Violator Enforcement Program, which mandates targeted follow-up inspections to ensure compliance with the law. The program focuses on recalcitrant employers that endanger workers by committing willful, repeat or failure-to-abate violations.
