Nederman MikroPul is a global organization specializing in industrial air filtration, dust collection and air pollution control for heavy process industries such as secondary aluminum, and more. Our mission is to protect people, the planet and production from the harmful effects of industrial processes. By doing so, we contribute to efficient performance, environmental benefits and a safer workplace.

With a combined applications knowledge of over 100 years, Nederman MikroPul is a leader in air engineering. Nederman MikroPul has developed a broad range of air pollution control technologies, for example our FS Baghouse Dust Collector, the preferred solution in foundries and smelters.

The FS dust collector, with horizontally installed flat bags, provides pollution control in a compact and easy-to-install package, achieving low emissions, reducing carbon footprint, extending bag life and simplifying maintenance.

Secondary aluminum processes, such as melting scrap aluminum, casting, dross processing, shredding, post-casting machining and surface treatments, are primary sources of airborne lead dust. These activities can release fine particulates, as small as PM 2.5, into the work environment, necessitating effective dust collection solutions to safeguard worker health and ensure compliance with environmental standards.

With our expertise, companies get the right solutions for their air pollution control needs, such as:

  • Compliance inspections
  • Site-wide assessments comparing baghouse performance to current and future demands
  • Full scope solutions from source capture to dust removal
  • Spare parts: original equipment manufacturer, ensuring size and fit
  • Digital solutions that allow multi-equipment, multi-site and multi-location oversight
  • Upgrades, retrofits and repairs to increase equipment life and provide a safe working environment

Adhering to strict safety measures, including the use of efficient dust collection systems like the FS Dust Collector, is crucial not just for compliance, but also for ensuring the wellbeing of workers and environmental protection in these operations. Failure to meet safety standards can result in a plethora of consequences, from risking the health of your workforce to incurring heavy fines and legal repercussions.

Investing in and adhering to proper safety measures, such as employing efficient dust collection systems like the FS Dust Collector, is not just a compliance issue but a critical responsibility for both worker safety and environmental protection when dealing with airborne contaminants.

With safety being top of mind, here is a list of FS Dust Collectors/Flat Bag filter advantages:

  • Safety: Fire/Explosion Risks – Flat bag filters are considered safer in potentially explosive environments, as they operate at lower air-to-cloth ratios and are less prone to sparks and other ignition sources.
  • Emission Control: Flat bag filters are known for their high filtration efficiency, which can effectively capture fine particles, including those that might pose health hazards. A crucial factor when maintaining air quality and worker safety.
  • Dust Containments: Flat bag filters are effective at containing and sealing dust within the filter housing, reducing the risk of dust escaping into the surrounding environment. This containment is essential in industries with strict safety and environmental regulations.
  • Energy Efficiency: Flat bag filters generally consume less energy, leading to lower operating costs and reduced environmental impact.
  • Space Savings: Flat bag filters are more space efficient compared to other filters, making them suitable for installations with limited space.
  • Versatility: Flat bag filters can be adapted for various applications, making them versatile in industrial settings.

FS Dust Collectors can efficiently capture and contain dust particles, improve air quality, reduce fire hazards, aide regulatory compliance and provide a safer environment for workers within industrial settings.

If you have aging equipment, need to adhere to regulations or increase your bag life, we’ve got the solutions.

Here are a few examples of how we solved those for others:

  1. Replacement of Aging Capital Equipment: A North American automotive tier supplier upgraded its air filters in a project to support their delacquering processes. By providing two baghouses with full automation, Nederman MikroPul reduced energy consumption by eliminating the need for compressed air, as well as reduced the baghouse footprint in an inside application and increased the bag life to more than two years.
  1. Exceeding EPA Permit Requirements: A midwestern company achieved EPA compliance by implementing two FS baghouses attached to a melting solution. Actual particle missions were well within the normal requirements. These filters were monitored by state-of-the-art remote sensing to ensure emissions were consistently controlled.
  1. Installation and Increase in Bag Life: A global producer with international sites implemented a Nederman MikroPul FS solution for its shredding operation by installing a preseparator for large particulate. By doing so, they were able to increase the bag life by many years and material removal became easy. This project was delivered with full baghouse automation, source capture and ducting.

Nederman MikroPul is here to help provide further insights on how to elevate safety & compliance in all your operations.
