Bennington, New Hampshire-based Monadnock Paper Mills Inc. says its ability to now offer “hundreds of custom grades” in its Astrolite paper line “empowers businesses to confidently push creative boundaries in a market that demands adaptability.”

The company, founded in 1819 and which on its website says it consumes printer, converter and postconsumer recovered paper in a closed loop process, refers to itself as “the oldest continuously operating paper mill in the United States and a leader in sustainable and innovative paper solutions.”

“Our low minimum order requirement to make custom papers allows brands to think big, regardless of size,” says Julie Brannen, director of sales at Monadnock. “By removing the typical financial barriers associated with customization, we’re making it more accessible for our customers to explore both creative and technical applications to open new doors.”

Monadnock says it collaborates with clients to produce papers with the textures, finishes and performance characteristics required, whether for luxury packaging, print-specific applications or to meet sustainability goals.

“Manufacturing here in the United States means we can respond to our clients' needs with greater speed and precision,” says Lisa Taylor, a vice president with Monadnock. “This focus on nearshoring helps simplify supply chains and ensures faster, more reliable access to high-quality, sustainable paper solutions that elevate brand messaging and comply with stringent industry regulations.”

According to the firm, applications served by its custom papers include packaging, gift cards and technical papers.
