Hamburg-based Minebea Intec GmbH says its load cell technology is helping owners of truck scales welcome a high volume of traffic while offering a high level of precision weighing.
The global technology provider cites truck scale producer Waagen Dammaschke, also based in Germany, as using the Minebea Intech PR 6221 truck scale load cell when installing scales that accept load levels of up to 50 metric tons while offering accuracy categorized as Class C3 (within 0.0230 percent of the correct weight).
“Every load cell from Minebea Intec is precisely calibrated, and many types even have ‘matched outputs,’ i.e. the individual adjustment of the output resistance to match the characteristic value,” states Minebea Intec.
“With new builds, we see that the load cells are perfectly matched to each other, so that corner adjustment is usually no longer necessary,” says Fabian Müller, managing director of Waagen Dammaschke.
The scale producer says the PR 6221 load cell also offers a service-related advantage. “For us, the time and effort required for adjustments or maintenance is also decisive. This shows that the load cells require only minimal adjustment, even after years of use.”
The PR 6221 load cell also has what Minebea Intec calls a special measuring element it says “effectively counteracts errors caused by the deflection of the weighbridge [truck scale].” The company calls that feature ideal for use in truck scales where heavy trucks can move the scale in the direction of travel.
Minebea Intec credits the load cell’s “high restoring force” for ensuring the load cell will quickly return to its centered rest position.
“We are committed to the load cell PR 6221 from Minebea Intec because [of] the quality [and] thanks to its durability and reliability, using the PR 6221 from Minebea Intec pays off,” says Müller.
Minebea Intec, with a product line that includes high-resolution platform scales, load cells, hopper and silo scales and software, says it has more than 1,000 employees at 18 global locations, including a United States office in Holbrook, New York.
