Midwest Scrap Management Inc., headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, has changed its corporate name to Scrap Management Industries Inc., though its ownership remains the same.
RELATED: Forward momentum
Given its strong local history in Kansas City and St. Joseph, Missouri, however, those facilities will continue to operate as Midwest Scrap Management for the foreseeable future.
Kenny and Sherrie Burgess founded the company in 1989, and it remains owned by the Burgess family. The company is run by their son, Jerrit Burgess, who was appointed president and CEO in 2020. Scrap Management Industries says its commitment to integrity, exceptional value, service and strong partnerships also has not changed.
The change to Scrap Management Industries better reflects its growing industry leadership and footprint, according to the company, which has six yards total: two in Missouri, three in Kansas and one in Oklahoma. It operates four auto shredders, including two at its yard in Kansas City.
The company provides industrial scrap management, demolition and brokerage services.
