Middle East recycling conferences seek presentations

Host of March 2023 metals and electronics recycling events issues a call for papers.

The host of two recycling events scheduled for mid-March 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has issued an invitation to people and companies with an interest in making presentations as part of the show’s programs.

Dubai-based Waste & Recycling Middle East and Africa describes its March 15, 2023, Metals Recycling Confex MEA as an “international event for stakeholders in the secondary metals industry.” Presenters at the event are being offered “the chance to present your expertise and advances in the sector.”

The following day, the publication is hosting the Electronics & Battery Recycling Confex MEA at the same venue in Dubai—the Ritz-Carlton DIFC. Waste & Recycling Middle East and Africa describes that conference as a gathering of electronic scrap recyclers, technology vendors and original equipment manufacturers with an interest in e-scrap recycling.

For the metals event, the publication says interested parties can submit a synopsis and a short description of their proposed presentation with an option on several topics, including supply and demand trends for nonferrous metals; key challenges; ferrous scrap and steel market analysis and outlook; hedging; regulatory risks and global trade; ship recycling; and market intelligence or timely themes relevant to the metals recycling industry.

“Papers that are commercial in nature or market-specific products will not be accepted,” according to Waste & Recycling Middle East and Africa. The publication says synopses can be submitted through Jan. 15 to publication editor Swaliha Shanavas at swaliha@mediafusionme.com.

The March 16 e-scrap event is seeking submitted abstracts with “a short description of your proposed presentation.” Topics suggested by the publication include “emerging issues in electronics recycling; e-scrap plastics recycling; battery materials; innovation; recycling technology; extended producer responsibility; international trade; battery reuse and energy storage; lithium-ion battery recycling; and market intelligence or timely themes relevant to the electronics and battery recycling industry.”

As with the metals event, Waste & Recycling Middle East and Africa says the deadline for submissions is Jan. 15, and presentations that are commercial in nature or about market-specific products will not be accepted.
