Metro Auto Recyclers, Valparaiso, Indiana, received a Clean Yard Gold Level certification from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). According to a news release from Metro Recycling, Metro Auto Recyclers’ sister company, this marks the fifth time the company has received this designation.
According to a Metro Recycling news release, IDEM implements federal and state regulations to protect human health and the environment, while also allowing environmentally sound industry, agriculture, commerce and government so vital to a prosperous economy.
Metro Auto Recyclers is one of eight auto recycling facilities in Indiana to have received this honor. Metro Recycling reports that there are about 400 auto recycling facilities statewide.
“Metro Recycling and Metro Auto Recyclers will always strive to operate in a manner which exceeds typical expectations,” says Neil Samahon, CEO of Metro Auto Recyclers. “We try not necessarily to be examples but to operate at a level where we feel a responsible business should. It is our desire to have a positive effect on our environment and in the communities in which we operate.”
