The Metals Recycling Confex Eurasia has announced its 2024 dates along with its move to Istanbul. The globally attended event is scheduled for June 23-25 at the Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul, and is jointly organized by Waste & Recycling magazine (formerly Waste & Recycling Middle East & Africa) and Recycling Today magazine. Those two publications are based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Valley View, Ohio, respectively.
The 2023 edition of the event, held in Dubai, attracted nearly 300 delegates from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as well as India, Europe, the United States and other nations.
“Moving to the global city of Istanbul places us directly in the center of one of the most important steel-producing regions of the world,” says Taher Patrawala, managing director of W&R MEA. “As steel production increases in the North African market, the demand for metals for recycling is growing.”
“Turkey has long been a large consumer of steel scrap exported from the USA,” says Jim Keefe, publisher of Recycling Today. “Hosting the event here helps to facilitate trade and understanding of the market. We’re seeing growing steel production across the region, and that will drive the demand for raw materials.
“Nonferrous metals recycling is also an important component of the overall metals industry across this region. Red metals and aluminum are essential to development and, as such, demand and production continue to escalate."
The event will feature an insightful program with informative sessions led by subject matter experts from across the globe. A range of networking events is planned to help delegates build trading relationships. Those networking events will be held within an exhibition hall featuring the industry’s leading technology for processing metals for recycling.
Further information is available here. Those interested in attending, speaking, sponsoring or exhibiting will find contact details on the website.
