Attendees at WasteExpo May 1-4 in New Orleans, Louisiana, can get a firsthand look at McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc.’s fully integrated electric collection truck among other products.
In addition to the fully integrated truck, which Phoenix-based Republic Services debuted earlier this year, McNeilus, a division of Oshkosh Corp., Oshkosh, Wisconsin, will highlight its latest developments in telematics, automation, electrification and other collection solutions at booth No. 2429.
The company says the fully integrated, zero-emission electric refuse collection vehicle is purpose-built and features active safety systems, excellent visibility, a 360-degree camera, object detection, streamlined controls with a 15-inch touchscreen display and a spacious cab.
“We’re focused on driving the refuse collection industry forward,” McNeilus Vice President and General Manager Lee Dreas says. “We’re looking forward to meeting with customers and partners at WasteExpo to talk about how we can support their current needs and prepare them for the future as our industry continues to evolve and transform.”
Around the exhibit hall, WasteExpo attendees will be able to learn about 14 McNeilus truck bodies on display at partner booths, including a McNeilus ePTO Zero Radius Automated Side Loader in booth No. 1337.
McNeilus also will feature the Meridian Front Loader with the Latitude residential collection system. Reinforcements to specific body components and streamlined hydraulics provide performance and efficiency upgrades. McNeilus’ Latitude residential collection system features quick disconnect and a dynamic load stabilizer offering drivers ground clearance advantages.
The company's electric power takeoff (ePTO) technology, featured on the company’s Extra Compaction Rear Loader, showcases a self-contained system optimized and dedicated to powering body functions for consistent performance. Common component placement, including a high-voltage disconnect, and consistent service parts across product models streamlines maintenance and training. McNeilus ePTO technology meets zero-emission regulations, and the ePTO rear loader that will be featured in the McNeilus booth is made with fossil-free steel, developed by the Sweden-based SSAB.
WasteExpo attendees also will get a look at McNeilus’ CartSeeker Curbside Automation technology and the company’s ClearSky telematics system.
McNeilus is donating to the Environmental Research and Education Foundation’s (EREF) annual charitable auction at WasteExpo. This year’s auction will feature a McNeilus Atlantic Series Front Loader on a Mack TerraPro chassis. In addition, the auction will include a McNeilus Heavy-Duty Rear Loader donated by San Antonio, Texas-based Rush Refuse Systems and another McNeilus Atlantic Series Front Loader donated by BTR, Tampa. Last year, donations from McNeilus and other industry partners raised more than $3.5 million to support scholarships, industry research and other EREF programs.
