Masaba Inc., a Vermillion, South Dakota-based manufacturer of bulk material handling solutions for the aggregate, mining, recycling and marine industries, among others, has introduced a new line of self-contained hydraulic radial stacking conveyors.

The road- and pit-portable stackers operate under their own power via a 72-horsepower Yanmar onboard diesel hydraulic power unit, making them ideal for remote operations and jobsites. The company notes the new conveyors are built to the same rigorous specifications as its traditional electric-powered stackers and are not limited to lighter steel weights and brandless components.

Masaba's self-contained stackers currently are available in a standard belt width of 36 inches and in standard lengths of 80 feet and 100 feet. The company says it will offer additional lengths in the future and will work with customers who desire custom widths and lengths.

The conveyors easily transport via a heavy-duty fifth-wheel hitch, according to Masaba, and are easy to position with onboard lifting eyes. The company’s current standard line of self-contained models has a capacity of 500 tons per hour at an 18-degree incline. The company adds that the conveyors feature hydraulic raise, lower and fold (the latter is a feature of the 100-foot model). With the company’s swivel-block axle design, the stackers can be used inline as a transfer conveyor or as a radial stacker.

Additional standard features of the self-contained line include:

  • self-cleaning tail pulleys;
  • CEMA Class B idlers;
  • an onboard counterweight; and
  • guards.

Optional features for the line include:

  • a Pintle hitch;
  • hydraulic landing gear;
  • a vulcanized belt splice;
  • a belt scraper;
  • CEMA Class C idlers;
  • rubber disc return idlers;
  • impact idlers;
  • a radial receiving hopper;
  • a rock box hopper; and
  • a bolt-on bumper.

As with all Masaba's equipment, the new line of self-contained stackers come with a five-year structural and two-year component warranty.

Founded in 1962, the company specializes in conveyors and portable/modular plants and offers custom solutions and full-service operations. The company works alongside its network of dealer partners to “perfect” customers’ processes for material handling and conveying, crushing, screening, washing and stockpiling.
