Machinex Technologies, Plessisville, Quebec, will feature a virtual tour of Rumpke Waste & Recycling’s new residential single-stream material recovery facility (MRF) at its booth at WastExpo 2023 in New Orleans.
Machinex is equipping the new Rumpke Recycling and Resource Center in Columbus, Ohio, with new technologies, including artificial intelligence, optical scanners and ballistic separators. According to Machinex, the new MRF will feature a 56 ton-per-hour system and is expected to open in 2024.
Brad Goins, a project director at Machinex, says the new MRF will feature technology that is able to sort papers, cardboard, high-density polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene and mixed plastics from residential and commercial curbside collection.
“Rumpke really did consider their future growth and how Machinex has the ability to provide technology that will meet those future needs and keep them a recycling leader in the U.S.,” Goins says.
Virtual tours of the facility are available May 1-4 at Booth 2813 at WasteExpo in New Orleans and can be booked online in advance of the event.
