Boston-based Lux Research is offering a webinar at four different times Tuesday, March 25, that will consider ways forward for the chemical or “advanced” plastics recycling sector.

The firm says a webinar led by its Senior Director and principal analyst Anthony Schiavo and fellow analyst Marcian Lee will be offered at 11 a.m. March 25 in four different time zones: Singapore or China Time in Asia; Central European Time on that continent; and Eastern Time and Pacific Time in North America.

Lux Research indicates that this year “was supposed to be a major year” for chemical recycling, saying, “Global brands had set major recycling goals, and many advanced recycling projects were to be fully operational.”

The firm adds, “Instead, companies are abandoning their goals, recognizing that achieving circularity is far more difficult than they expected and advanced recycling has been dogged by failures, shutdowns and scandals. Where do companies go from here?”

Lux Research says its webinar will explore the consulting firm’s own data on advanced recycling scale-up and discuss changes in policy and consumer perception that could yet lead to “a path to future success for the advanced recycling sector.”

A registration process for the webinar can be accessed via the Lux Research website.
