Germany-based Lindemann Metal Recycling has named Steven Groeneweg as its new sales manager for the Nordics and Baltics. He will oversee capital equipment sales and customer service operations in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and will report to Lindemann Global Head of Sales Alexander Zinn while working alongside existing sales manager in the region Jacob Aspholm.

Lindemann says Groeneweg brings a wealth of experience to the company, having spent more than a decade in various industrial service and sales roles. Originally from the Netherlands, he moved to Sweden 12 years ago.

His career began at industrial pump company Xylem, where he focused on drainage pumps for construction and mining. Over the years, Groeneweg held positions in purchasing, product management, technical sales and business development. His educational background includes a degree in mechanical engineering from the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School in the United Kingdom.

Groeneweg’s extensive experience in key account management and service development makes him an ideal fit for Lindemann’s strategic goals, the company says. He has a track record in growing strategic accounts and developing service offerings; skills Lindemann says are crucial as it seeks to enhance its footprint and service offerings to customers. The company notes Groeneweg is fluent in English and Swedish in addition to his native Dutch.

“Steven’s strong service background and relationship building skills are just what Lindemann needs as we strive to boost our presence and engagement with customers,” Zinn says. “His extensive experience in industrial services and his ability to develop and sell complete offerings will be invaluable as we continue to grow in the Nordics and Baltics.”

Groeneweg already has begun meeting with key customers, including Stena, Lindemann’s largest customer in the Nordics.

“I was drawn to Lindemann for two main reasons,” Groeneweg says. “Firstly, the company culture is all about getting things done, which I find really appealing. Secondly, the sustainability aspect is something I’ve been passionate about for a long time. Moving into a company that actively works towards a greener world is a very attractive proposition.”
