Komar Industries, a Groveport, Ohio-based designer and manufacturer of industrial waste and recycling processing systems, has acquired Philadelphia-based PTR Baler & Compactor Co. (PTR), an equipment manufacturer and national service provider for vertical balers, stationary compactors, self-contained compactors and related equipment.
“PTR has been a leader in the waste processing equipment industry for [more than] 50 years with high-quality products and a customer-focused orientation,” says Mark Koenig, Komar’s president and CEO. “Bringing PTR into the Komar family enhances the value and service provided to our customers and optimizes their most challenging waste and recycling applications.”
PTR will continue to be led by its existing leadership team, which will become shareholders in the combined organization as part of the transaction. The respective leadership teams see tremendous value in leveraging each company’s engineering and technological capabilities to drive further innovation within the waste and recycling industry.
“We are incredibly excited about the growth opportunities that lie ahead for PTR working alongside our new partner Komar,” says Mike Savage, PTR CEO and president. “Over the past 50-plus years, we have built PTR into one of North America’s premier baler and compactor providers with an unwavering commitment to equipment safety and providing the highest quality products available on the market. Our team is thrilled to have found a partner like Komar who shares our core values, culture, quality standards and commitment to our customers and employees.”
