Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services, an Irvine, California-based provider of information technology asset disposition (ITAD) services and other supply chain solutions, has announced the expansion of its operations in the Latin American market by opening an ITAD facility in Mexico City. The new processing center adds to Ingram Micro’s existing ITAD operations in the region and is the 21st facility in the company’s global ITAD network, which spans 14 countries. Ingram Micro provides ITAD services such as on-site data destruction and electronics recycling.
IT spending within Mexico reached $24 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, and compute rand device sales are expected to grow in 2021, Ingram Micro reports in a news release on its expansion. The company says regional demand for refurbished assets is strong and continues to grow.
“We are proud to support the substantial growth of our global client base through the expansion of our industry-leading ITAD services in Mexico,” says Todd Zegers, vice president ITAD and reverse logistics at Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services. “Technology and devices have become central to daily life, making related data security and sustainability initiatives more relevant than ever. The opportunity for growth in Latin America is significant, Mexico is the region’s second-largest economy, and we look forward to delivering these increasingly important services in a rapidly developing market.”
Ingram Micro reports that its new facility in Mexico City is open and fully operational. The company says it also offers e-commerce fulfillment, forward logistics, reverse logistics, spare parts management and value added within the country and region, and its FTZ in Miami offers cross-border shipping into and out of Latin America.
