Ineos Inovyn, a vinyl producer headquartered in the United Kingdom, has expanded its polyvinyl chloride (PVC) portfolio to include products with a significantly reduced carbon footprint and increased recycled content.
In the area of carbon neutrality, the company says Biovyn, the bio-attributed PVC launched in 2019, is designed to become carbon neutral and a net zero option. Ineos Inovyn adds that Biovyn has been used increasingly across various sectors from automotive, building and construction to medical and fashion applications.

To support customer targets for 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions, Ineos Inovyn will now offer Neovyn, a PVC range with a significantly reduced carbon footprint the company says is 37 percent lower than the European industry average for suspension PVC (reduced to 1.3 kilograms CO2 per kilogram PVC).
Neovyn will be produced from the many sustainable initiatives Ineos Inovyn is pursuing, it says, such as an increased access to renewable energy, process electrification and the production and use of renewable hydrogen. In a release, the company says, “Neovyn will become the new low carbon footprint standard enabling converters to progress on their carbon roadmap by reducing their scope 3 emissions and offer low carbon footprint products to their customers.”
The company has also introduced Recovyn, a product range designed to increase recycling and circularity while reducing plastic waste that is not currently mechanically recycled. Recovyn is made from 100 percent-recycled carbon feedstock and is designed for customers who want to increase their recycled content and meet high technical, quality and regulatory requirements, Ineos Inovyn says.
The company adds that Recovyn, Biovyn and Neovyn can be used as drop-in solutions, with their sustainability credentials certified by third parties such as RSB and ISCC Plus.
“We continue to provide industry leadership by bringing to market new products to meet emission reduction and circularity aspirations on route towards a future sustainable and net zero economy,” Ineos Inovyn Business Director Arnaud Valenduc says.
