Doswell, Virginia-based Indevco North America says it has acquired Perma R Products Inc. of Johnson City, Tennessee. Perma R has plants in Mississippi, Georgia and Tennessee that make insulation and roof underlayment products that will be integrated into the Indevco Building Products business unit.
The Lebanon-based Indevco Group, in addition to making building products and plastic packaging, uses scrap materials in some of its products. Last year, its Indevco Plastics business unit opened a 100,000 square foot facility in South Carolina to make recycled-content polyethylene converting films, form-fill-seal (FFS) and stretch hood films for the petrochemical, lawn and garden and salt markets.
The company’s latest acquisition, Perma R Products, produces expanded polystyrene (EPS) and graphite polystyrene (GPS) non-structural rigid foam insulation for interior, exterior and underground applications, plus building wrap and roof underlayment.
Bahjat Frem, executive chair of Indevco North America, points to sustainability as one reason for the acquisition. “As a group, sustainability is a key focus area that reflects our philosophy: What is good for the community is good for the company,” Frem says. “Together with our building envelope solutions, Indevco Building Products will bring to our customers a broader portfolio that will help in the ultimate transition to a net zero carbon footprint housing sector.”
