Harsco Environmental, a steel services company and division of Philadelphia-based Enviri Corp., has signed a multiyear services contract with Brazil-based steelmaker Gerdau S.A. Harsco, which has a collaborative history with Gerdau dating back decades, says the new contract is an inaugural agreement between it and Gerdau within Mexico.

Harsco says its seven-year contract will deliver comprehensive services such as slag pot carrying, metal recovery and slag processing to Gerdau’s site in Sahagun, Hidalgo, Mexico, and is designed to optimize operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable practices within the steel manufacturing process.
