Startup company Haber has raised $44 million in its Series C funding round, which included $38 million in equity and $6 million in debt, led by Creaegis, BEENEXT and Accel. Haber says the funding demonstrates strong investor confidence in the company’s artificial intelligence- (AI-) driven solutions and its vision for global expansion.

The capital will help Haber, which is based in Pune, India, expand into North America and put together a skilled team, with plans to hire engineers, data scientists, industry specialists and professionals in sales and support functions. Haber also plans to set up an office in Chicago along with an advanced R&D lab for generating training data and AI models, which will allow the company to take a deeper look at concerns faced by the customers, not only providing AI solutions but also leveraging Haber’s years of experience and learning in the Indian pulp, paper and packaging industry.

Founded in 2017 by CEO Vipin Raghavan, Chief Operations Officer Priya Venkat and Vice President, Technical, Arjunan PN, Haber’s proprietary AI technology empowers manufacturers to make data-driven decisions, eliminating the complexity of traditional data analysis while optimizing resource use, according to the company. By helping businesses significantly reduce water and energy use, Haber says it is redefining the balance between profitability and environmental responsibility.

“Industries in the U.S. are under increasing pressure to reduce environmental impact, comply with stringent regulations and adopt sustainable practices,” Venkat says. “Despite progress, challenges such as reducing water and energy consumption, minimizing chemical waste and improving process efficiency persist. These areas present an opportunity for solutions like ours, which are designed to enhance resource management and minimize waste through data-driven insights and automation.”

Haber says it has helped drive efficiency and sustainability in the Indian paper industry and is poised to extend its impact to other manufacturing industries.
