Two Austria-based recycling processing equipment and technology producers have formed a jointly founded holding company designed to leverage both companies’ expertise and jointly execute research projects to create industry standards in plastics recycling.
The new entity known as Blueone Solutions, founded by Lindner Recyclingtech GmbH and Erema Group, will consider the plastic recycling process from collection to the production of pellets.
“The challenge for the industry lies precisely in fine-tuning these individual recycling steps—in particular when energy efficiency and high recyclate qualities are to be achieved," the companies say of plastics recycling.
The Erema Group has been active in plastics recycling for 40 years as an extrusion market leader, while Lindner has been making shredders and other recycling-related equipment for 75 years.
“As the respective industry leaders, we recognized the need for process optimization some time ago,” says Michael Lackner, managing director of Lindner. “A functioning circular economy is only possible by merging waste management with recycling management."
“A functioning recycling industry demands a focus on the entire process and value chain from [scrap] collection and processing to recycling and the final plastic product," Erema Group CEO Manfred Hackl adds. "Thanks to this merger, Erema and Lindner will create a better overall understanding to jointly shape the necessary further development, especially in the polyolefins sector.
“With the merging of the companies, we want to revolutionize plastics recycling and, above all, set new standards in terms of quality, quantity and efficiency."
