Latta, South Carolina-based rotational molder Diversified Plastics Inc. (DPI) has introduced a new robotic cell to its manufacturing facility.
Created by Advanced Integration Technology, the machine will assist in the trimming processes at the facility. According to a news release, the capabilities of the robotic cell allow the trimming to be done safely and efficiently with less scrap. In addition, “the manufacturing process can be dangerous, so the robots can complete this in a safer manner.”
Advanced Integration Technology robots can auto adjust to accommodate multiple shaped parts at different dimensions, allowing the robot to assist in the production of many different product lines, according to the news release.
Diversified Plastics added more than 18,000 square feet to its facility to house the new robotic cell and rotational molding oven. The building expansion will “accommodate the growth of the company’s new product lines and custom rotational molding.”
“We are excited that this cutting-edge technology is up and running at our facility,” Diversified Plastics President Tommy Wallace states. “The addition to our facility was necessary to accommodate the growth of our company.”
Since 1976, Diversified Plastics has been a rotational molding manufacturer of custom and standard material handling carts and plastic storage containers. With locations in Latta, South Carolina, and Atlanta, DPI specializes in material handling carts, as well as waste and recycling plastic containers for restaurants, sports venues and stadiums, apartment and condominium complexes and corporate offices.
