Cyclyx International, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, a consortium-based postuse plastic innovation company, has launched Cyclyx Brokerage Services to address discarded plastic streams the company has sourced but are not appropriate for the Cyclyx Circularity Center based on the needs of specific offtake partners. This plastic will be sold to other mechanical or advanced recyclers to increase the amount of plastic diverted from landfills, the company says.
According to Cyclyx, the service leverages its chemical profiling of plastic capabilities to find recycling options for plastics Nos. 1-7 and deliver custom-compound feedstocks that meet customer needs in handling complex postuse plastics.
Cyclyx adds this brokerage service to its current suite of offerings, which include Cyclyx consortium membership, 10to90 landfill diversion programs, a chemical characterization lab for analysis of material and the development of Cyclyx Circularity Centers to produce custom blends of postuse plastics. Implementing brokerage services will generate business opportunities for reducing landfill plastics by increasing recycling options, Cyclyx says.
"The introduction of brokerage services at Cyclyx is instrumental in our pursuit to increase the recyclability of postuse plastics by allowing us to leverage our expansive network of consortium members, sourcing clients and our ability to custom compound for both advanced and mechanical recyclers,” Joe Vaillancourt, Cyclyx CEO, says.
Cyclyx Brokerage Services will support the company’s 10to90 mission of increasing the recyclability of plastics from 10 percent to 90 percent, Cyclyx adds.
