Residents of Charlotte, N.C. will be using larger recycling containers to collect their recyclables, starting July 5. Additionally, residents will now start bringing their recyclables to the curb every other week.
"Solid Waste Services is committed to providing quality and efficient Solid Waste Services," says Victoria Garland, Charlotte’s key business executive. "In an effort to stay committed to maximize efficiency and cost, we made major changes in our operation, which resulted in us changing collection schedules for residents. We understand this may be an uncomfortable change for customers, but we are confident they will see an improvement in overall service."
"The improved program provides residents with a larger cart (96 gallons) and allows them to recycle more than ever before. Residents can now place plastics 1 -5 and 7, aerosol cans; juice boxes; and wax-coated milk and orange juice cartons in their recycling carts," Garland adds.
