Cronimet Holding GmbH, a Germany-based recycler of stainless steel and other materials that has a global footprint, has expanded its management team with the promotion of Marijo Zeljko as its new chief operating officer (COO) and Leandro Campos as its new chief technology officer (CTO). The duo started in their new positions Jan. 1.

Cronimet says the addition of the executives will strengthen its focus on the markets. Zeljko and Campos will be responsible for future market development, and the recycling firm says each newly promoted executive brings a wealth of expertise and many years of Cronimet experience to their positions.

As COO of Cronimet, Zeljko will be responsible for the corporate recycling division of the Cronimet Group, with the exception of the United States market.

Most recently, Zeljko was responsible for the Cronimet Group’s European business as CEO. In that role, the company says, he successfully promoted the further development and cooperation of the European locations.

Prior to that, Zeljko also was managing director of Cronimet Ferroleg GmbH, the founding company and largest subsidiary of the Cronimet Group.

Campos has been working for the group for 10 years as managing director of Cronimet Brasil Ltda. in South America. As CTO, he will be responsible for the raw materials division of the corporation, which includes processing activities.

Cronimet says Campos “will contribute his many years of technical expertise in the processing of materials. He will also remain responsible for the Brazilian market.”

Campos has 23 years of experience in the metals industry and also earned a postgraduate degree in production and metallurgy.

“I am delighted to have gained two highly competent and valued colleagues in Marijo Zeljko and Leandro Campos for the Management Board,” says Jürgen Pilarsky, CEO and majority shareholder of Cronimet Holding GmbH.

“Both have been working very successfully for Cronimet for a long time and are role models for living our values. Together with [Chief Financial Officer] Bernhard Kunsmann and  [Chief Information Officer] Annette Gartner, we have an outstanding management team that will lead Cronimet safely through the current geopolitical uncertainties and at the same time continue to develop in our challenging markets.”

The Cronimet Holding Group is a global specialist in stainless steel scrap and ferroalloys. The company has been supplying raw materials to stainless steel producers since 1980 and has more than 1,600 employees working from 68 locations worldwide, including more than 10 in the U.S.
