According to an article on the website for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Conway, Arkansas, has hired a recycling coordinator to educate residents about the city’s recycling operations.
Alicia Neppl was previously employed as a health program specialist for the Arkansas Department of Health before becoming the recycling coordinator in February. The position was created, according to Conway Chief of Staff Jack Bell to provide recycling “education and outreach.”
“[Alicia] had really good experience with the state Department of Health tobacco-cessation program,” Bell told ArkansasOnline. “What was really impressive to me, when she came into her interview, she actually had a portfolio with items she’d helped design.”
“My biggest job is to educate the proper ways to recycle,” Neppl told the newspaper. “Every program has different sets of rules in what we can take and what we can’t. Pretty much, I learn something new every day.”
