Metal Trade Comax Group acquires Oetinger Aluminium Group

Metal Trade Comax Group, based in the Czech Republic, has acquired Oetinger Aluminium Group, a manufacturer of recycled-content aluminum casting alloys based in Germany. Oetinger operates plants in Weißenhorn and Neu-Ulm, Germany, with a total production capacity of approximately 190,000 metric tons per year.

Metal Trade Comax Group, based in the Czech Republic, is a metals processing company engaged in coil coating, profiling and slitting activities with an annual capacity of 200,000 metric tons per year.

According to Metal Trade Comax, in its metallurgy segment the company currently operates scrap-fed aluminum casting alloys furnaces with about 30,000 metric tons per year of capacity. These will be combined with the Oetinger assets, Metal Trade Comax indicates in a Jan. 9, 2018, press release, to create a combined annual production capacity of about 220,000 metric tons per year.
