The Middletown, Ohio-based scrap firm Cohen has reportedly closed its Troy, Ohio, scrap metal facility. The company still operates approximately 20 facilities in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
According to a Dayton (Ohio) Daily News online report, Drew Lammers, Cohen vice president of outside operations, said significant changes in the commodity markets and lower volume of processed material contributed to the company’s decision to shutter the plant.
Lammers also indicated that employees from the Troy site will be offered transfers to other company locations.
