Minnesota metal recycler purchases C&C car logger baler

Metro Metals Recycling's 580CL can accommodate vehicles as large as full-size vans.

C&C Manufacturing, Ottumwa, Iowa, owner of the Aljon brand, has delivered an electric version of its C&C 580CL (car logger) baler to Metro Metals Recycling in St. Paul, Minnesota. (Editor's note: C&C Manufacturing changed its name to S2 Manufacturing in late 2023.)

The C&C twin-ram 580CL baler that Metro Metals Recycling purchased came equipped with an electric power unit and a long list of standard features. The machine is capable of swallowing vehicles as large as full-size vans with ease, according to the manufacturer.

C&C Manufacturing says other features of the fully portable, road-legal unit include:

  • one-man operation;
  • a 360-degree continuous rotation material handler and grapple;
  • four corner hydraulic outriggers for stability;
  • an L box design;
  • a high-visibility operator’s station; and
  • a fully automatic cycle (doors close, the ram moves in and out and the doors open)
